I think it could be argues that my digipak is effective and links well with the video. Some feedback that has been given suggested that the whole promotional package felt like it was mainly promoting an EP. However, when I looked into this further I noticed that more bands from the indie-rock genre were doing this type of thing. For example, Bastille’s album cover is based on a scene from one tracks music video so I feel like I have adhered to the main conventions within my promotional package. I like the use of different shot types throughout my digipak and I feel like it has a very coherent feel to it and this is a successful part of the promotional campaign. I feel like indie rock tries to be more abstract and this is why I’ve included the ghost character throughout.
My poster uses a shot of the two characters, again, adhering to the idea of the promotional package being coherent. I’ve added the same font as used within the digipak because I feel as if it is used well in this genre. Also adding the ratings gives it more of a conventional feel. The setting really links everything together and this comes across clearly.
